brr!

I don't have time to concieve of a fabulous post today. I'm chilly. Fierce chilly, frozen footed, ice-chested chilly.

This cold snap has made me realise I have hardly any winter clothes. Nothing in the shops ever seems to have long sleeves. And all my tops are open necked, thanks to Trinny and Suzannah type fashion advice.

Brr!

I've no red socks.

As for winter clothing, I would walk around in underpants and a vest all winter as long as I have my scarf. That scarf is like Samson's locks to my body heat.

And your vest, presumably. Is it thermal?

No, the doctor says it has a good chance of pulling through...

I wear a hooded cardigan day and night, night and day, for weeks now. Washing has become superfluous, cos it's too damn cold to go anywhere without it.

When I go outside, I resort to wearing all my clothes at once. This often means more than one hat, mis-matching colours and jackets that won't button up because I have got too many layers underneath.

And the kids still insist on roaming around in t-shirts.

Yes! Snap! Down to the hoodie and not washing.

Blimey, you won't stay very warm in those, you need some thick woolly tights. I once lived in a flat so cold I used to sleep in thick woolly tights. It was the only way to keep the chill off.

A wooly hat is the best defense. And doubled up socks. We sound like auld ones.

you are old ones.

I rove around in a loincloth scowling at the cityfolk.

Lord, I've just had a mighty visual.

Have you sprayed on the tan, or are you out there glowing whitely?

My hairy arms and legs take the sheen away.

Layers.

And warming beverages. Toast too.
