praise be

'How's the soup, Olivia?'

'... It's... delicious!'

'!!!!'

Mother is overwhelmed with astonishment. Olivia is eating vegetable soup again. Cheese is the secret.

Now if only Bhodi would start again I'd be two for two.

Dinner time, five minutes after I should have left:

'Go on, taste the soup, you don't have to eat it, but what if it's yummy and you're missing out?'

'Ok. Hmm, it's kinda cool. It's kinda yummy!'

Puts spoon down.

Cheese in soup?

Jo said...

Er, yes.

Like, EasySingles melted into it or lumps of cheddar or what?

What's that, knacker chic?

You're very contentious these days, Xbox. I thought you were meant to be full of paternal bliss.

You grate cheese into the soup, it melts and makes it rich and tasty. Num Num.

Also good with baked beans.

I know you're not a cheese fan, so be comforted: you do not have to put cheese in your soup if you don't wish to.

I'm perfectly happy, just asking a simple question based on your post...

Is that not the idea behind this wee comment box?

But yes, I have a cheese aversion.

Daddy X has a cheese aversion? Hmmm.
Well, that was a lovely post, Jo. And like my son says, if a child grows up with good soup, he'll never know he's poor.

Well, he's right, really, it's not like cheese is good for you.

I wish I could send my children on a role modelling course with downtown guy. They'd come home eager for soup and being kind to their mother :)

Don't get my wrong, my aversion is not founded on it's detremental effect upon one's health, it just makes me gag a bit.

I love fish fingers.

Mmmm, I love cheese in soup.

"delicious" - congratulations :-)

A cheese aversion? That's just wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Grated cheese in soup is excellent. And meat balls. And toasty bits. Mmm.

I'm sure cheese is pretty good for children - it's milk and fat and protein. They need all that stuff. Just not too much of it.

Just wrong, I tell you.

It does sound a little like you like soup, Danielle.

Why fight it?

I think good soup is soul food.
