It sounds like it's going to be nice, I'm wondering if I could bring the kids, or if it would be too loud and drunk... what does anyone think?

I'm a wimp. I would so leave them home. Though it's only an hour long... oh bring them. but sit in the back so you can escape!

You misunderstand, well meaning people:

I WANT to bring the kids, so they get to see the band. Open air gigs are more child friendly than clubs n pubs etc.

And I have NO idea who you're talking about... my blogland mil is Betty!

I took my kids to hear their daddy play many times when they were young. Especially at outdoor events. They cherish those memories.
Do it! Dance with them!

Yeah, I've done so before. It's more a specific opinion on Temple Bar on a Friday night in the summer - at this event - that I'm looking for, so I suppose I'm appealing to the wrong demographic here :)

I wouldn't to be honest, temple bar on a friday night after 8pm will be full or tourists, hens/stags and the boozing after work crowd. I don't think it's a place for children.

Yeah, fair enough, Axel thought the same - I just thought it might be a sort of a peace and love, chilled vibe. I figured I could always take them home again if it was rough... but maybe better not to schlepp all the way in and out again for nothing.

Bring the kids, they'll love the noise and watching you get drunk...
