I think this may be the order of the day

Leek and Sweet Potato Soup.

I put the heat on for a bit last night. First time. And with our new windows, all was toasty. All hail double glazing!

Only somewhat relevant, I'm looking for a chunky mushroom pasta sauce, but I don't fancy using cream. Any notions?

Creme Fraiche? Or Cream cheese.

But google 'creamy mushroom sauce' and you'll get lots of options.

NOOOOOOO cream, of any sort.

I don't think I've ever enjoyed a creamy pasta dish.

Well, what then? Tomato is the obvious one - or pesto. I thought you meant you wanted an alternative. Creme fresh isn't like cream, it's more like ... I don't know.

Anyway. Pesto is probably your best option, or just the veg and some nice olive oil and garlic, maybe some parmesan, if you stretch to that? I know you're not a cheese fan.

Mmm. I was going to make soup with leeks and carrots tonight. Now I may put some (non-sweet) potatoes in. Because to start with, I missed the "sweet."

Double glazing is cool indeed. We have it in this house and I get amazed at how warm we can be in Winter. In Summer of course we can't get the heat out either but that's maybe three days a year so I'm happy anyway.
