I struggle with this. I think I have a very Dutch perspective in that sense. I don't work right now (or no paid work anyway) and will go back part time when all my children are in school. In the rest of my time, I plan to do exactly what was discussed: sports, lunch with friends, time with the kids, gardening. And I'm wanting it that way. It sounds excellent.
I do worry about how vulnerable that makes me, though. I am not building up a career, so if Babes ever leaves me I am SCREWED. I suppose I could still start a career then. Also - I do wonder about my potential work-wise.
Ah fuck it - I would much rather enjoy the life I have and if it does go wrong, I'll deal with it. It could just as well go right.

Fascinating. What an interesting perspective.
Thanks for sharing it.
It was Shanna's first - she has good stuff in her Sunday Pleasures this week.
Obviously I am too fat to live in the Netherlands.
