I had a lot to do today, and then at 11 I remembered Bodhi had two birthday parties to attend, one at 12 and one at 2 - not so close together. And I hadn't bought presents yet...
So that's pretty much what we did today. I forgot party 2 was dress up, and had to rush home for his orange monster costume. His legs have grown about 6 inches since he wore it last year :)
One of the things I was meant to do today was apply for a job on the other side of Dublin. 47 mins drive (excluding traffic) or a loooong train ride away. I could apply now, and assume a midnight deadline, but they've probably got a lot in already... and the truth is, I really don't fancy working that far from the house - especially for the 9 hours of teaching that were in it... also, a guy got stabbed to death there a few days ago, called the police at 7 am, but died on the way to hospital. Off putting. So yeah, I think I'll let this one go, bad as that is. I know I should try for an interview for practice, but it's far enough away it would cost a bit to get to... I dunno. I think I'll back away slowly from this one.
Now, to make a pumpkin cheesecake. I've never done it - pumpkin pie, yes, cheesecake yes, but not all together. I feel nervous about it. Why the hell do I get nervous about baking? If I could only shake this endless trepidation, life would be so much easier.
