I should have bought a kettle
But instead I bought a griddle
The allure of magic beans
I never can resist

We really need a kettle
I know it's an essential
But just before my aunt died
she bought a really excellent new oven

And it came with a griddle
And I don't know that she ever got to use it
Pancakes were planned for the Saturday morning she died
We made them the weekend after instead

So, I rationalise:
Life is Short
Make pancakes while you may.
