ffs

So. Thanks to Google, I realised last night that I've managed to spread my cold sore virus to my gum. Intraoral herpes. I'm very ignorant about it, I didn't even realise my cold sores were cold sores, let alone herpes for a long time. And I didn't know this could happen. I've thought I had an infected gum for the last few days. Well, I guess I do: infected with herpes.

UGH and double UGH. Unclean.

I suppose this would feel worse if there were the slightest chance I'd got it from someone else. But at least I know that's not possible. The weird thing is, I don't know if I've had it before or not - I might have just thought it was gingivitis then too. The sad thing is, the best treatment I've found for it is cider vinegar, which isn't great for the teeth. Aloe and Propolis it is, then, I suppose. I'm extremely broke this week, and health food shop visits are always fraught with expense.

Oh, fuck it all. Or nobody, ever again, I suppose, more accurately, though the silver lining is that I wasn't planning that one anyway.

Viruses are the trickiest little bastards on earth. I'm so sorry, Jo. At least you know it will pass.

It's not as uncomfortable as the ones on the face. It's not so much the passing of the breakout as the never going away properly ever for rest of my life, even if I don't have outbreaks :(

I am world champion of herpes sufferers thanks to immune suppression medication which I am stuck with for the rest of my life.
Here is my advice: Get yourself a bottle of lysine tablets from any pharmacy or health food shop and take twice the recommended daily dose. Don't worry, they are not toxic. Google arginine food stuff and don't eat any of it for the time being. Google lysine-arginine balance and herpes if you must.
I've had it almost anywhere, inside nostrils is the worst.
Next time you get them on your lips, use pure alcohol (from the chemist) to wash the blasted blisters. It stings like hell but they disappear so much faster than with any of the ointments.
All the best. And don't kiss any newborn babies.

No kissing of any babies for me :(
I get it in my nose too. Sometimes.

I don't really get them on my lips so much, but I find apple cider vinegar is the best thing I've used so far. I've had cold sores for ages, but as far as I know, this is the first time I've had it on my gums. I could be wrong though.

I've tried the L Lyseine before, but I didn't find it made a huge difference. Mine is hormone related. Why do hormones affect the immune system? Stupid design flaw >:(

Sabine, I threw Propolis, Aloe Vera mouthwash and cider vinegar at the ones on my gum once I realised it was and that seems to have been v effective, though I'd had it several days before that.
