That's a great post by Grannymar Jo, thanks for pointing it out.

I know it sounds dreadful but I used to hope that if I died that my daughter would forget me because the pain of remembering was too much and way, way too painful. I suppose I didn't want her to go through what I went through when my mother died. And I wasn't a child when that happened. Sounds crazy I know.

I don't think it matters though Ash - even if you're too young to rememeber, you're still hugely affected by being left, it resonates with you through your life. Doesn't it seem like we were badly designed - to be so depended on our parents, and so affected by their deaths? Someone told me she was really destroyed by her mother's death, and her mother died when this woman was in her sixties!
