is it time?

I just noticed someone had streamlined their blogroll and I was part of the cull. Which is fine, and all, I don't believe in uncomfortable blogging beholden-ness (I can't think of the word I need here. It begins with S I think), but it still feels a little bit crushing. I mean, I know people have stopped reading, and I stopped reading other blogs, the world turns on. Still... faillllllll.

SO: as I've been wondering this anyway, there's a wee poll to the right of this, at the top, that you might consider voting on. Partly because I'd just like to do a poll, and also cos I'd like to see if anyone's here, other than the faithful commenters, and what they think.
What do you think?

I voted. And you know how.

Thank you, Mary :) I did know that already, though :)

don't stop ever! even if there is only one person out there who benefits, that is enough reason to keep on! Your blog is honest and beautiful. don't let one person's actions shatter your self-esteem and mission!

Hardly ever comment, but I still read every entry. For the no comment, I blame RSS readers, but see, I moved out of the reader into your blog today :) And thank you also for making me discover Ms. Moon's blog, which I love and on which I don't comment either...

look - if it gives you pleasure, release or anything good, keep going. i like to read you. of all the irish blogs of yore, there are only 3 i still read and receive the feed for. the rest, meh.
i wish i had kept my blog anonymous so i could pour my heart into it. i miss that release right now.
do what feels right for you.

I voted too! Faithful reader here :-)

Thanks everyone.

Geeks, it wasn't a hostile act or anything, it's fine to clean out the blogs you don't read. No one should be held hostage by a one time blog reading exchange! I know the person who it was, and she's lovely, I hold her no animosity over it, just makes me a bit despondant.

Tatty, maybe now would be a good time for a new anon blog? I always assumed Tatty Franey WAS a pseudo in the first place! :)
You just write to a few people you'd like to read it, and comment as your new identity on blogs you'd like people to hop over from - or you could even keep a closed one and just have it as a diary.

You have always written well, & I like that.

If you did something else I'd read that too.

(I saw someone took me off a blogroll lately and I was fucking gutted, even not having written anything in 6 months.)

Jo said...

Ha, I know, you've officially closed, haven't you?

It's not rational, the gutted feeling, but it's probably the same for everyone.

Martin said...

If I say yes you'll delete me.

So, no.

I just realized I don't have you on my neglected blog's blog roll!! Hah! I'm putting you on so now you will be even! also, Martin, that's good you wrote because I was wondering what I was going to do with my link to your now defunctness!!

I will not delete. But please do post a pic of the juicy Mango!!

Aw, thanks :)

But just to mke it clear, there are no blogroll trading obligations in blogging, I never meant that!

I'm so lazy about my blogroll, I don't maintain it at all. Takes me months to update.

I can't find your wee poll, but keep going.

I know I don't comment often, but I do still read your blog all the time.

I don't do a blogroll, partly because of a fear of upsetting people, but I do have shortcuts to some blogs on my desktop, and you're one of them.

And the anti-spam word I've too type in now genuinely is "comelogy", and for that alone you should keep going.

You know you'd miss it, and so would we.

i tried to vote no multiple times just to take the piss. keep on keeoing on jo.

Jo said...

Thnaks, men! Comeology, eh? :) I would have thought that was for the other blog...

I enjoy your honesty, don't stop

Ah I would be gutted too. Funny Martin and Tinman commented on this. Because they feature heavily in my blog-related neuroses. Probably because they were among my first commenters. Nevermind.

Keep going. But then you know I comment so I suppose you weren't looking for my opinion.
