Considering the comments to that post about god and my four year old, I'm sort of surprised by how many answers were 'you did the right thing!' affirmations. Because I wasn't asking that, exactly. Really it just started out with me being amused at the inversion of traditional value systems - I know a lot of people who teach children about 'Holy God' and find that a sweet concept to educate a child with... 'that's HolyGod's House' - me, I just find that creepy, somehow.
So yeah, I know I wondered a little about the idea of removing consolation but I'm still fairly certain about the rights and wrongs of it. Teddy bears too :)
