Coming round the corner, I see the sign that tells me this Saturday sees the return of the Annual Christchurch Church Fete. It's grey and raining and green outside - exceedingly damp, and not so redolent of cream teas in the sunshine as a church fete would suggest.
Proceeding down the road, I see the church ground is draped in white tents. Clearly they're used to the weather.
