public humiliation punishment cheered on the internet by those who claim it 'never did me any harm'

In the words of a lovely friend, and very loving mother, 'I'm a crappy, selfish mom most of the time'. But there are some parenting issues I know I'm on solid ground with. Like never premeditatively humiliating my children in public and on the internet as punishment for 'disrespect'.

The facebook page I saw this on posted proudly about what good parenting this is. The comments, numbering over 12 thousand and rising, mostly said, Yay! Woo! Kids get away with everything these days, go upstanding Dad! She'll remember this lesson, and it leaves no bruises! A swat on the ass was good for me, pansy pantied whiners! etc.

I see a Dad getting childish revenge and exercising his power over a smaller person in his care. Kids lie sometimes. There's ways to deal with it. I'd lie to him if he was my dad, and I anticipated a reaction like this. I wonder how he reacts to the truth?

Speaking of power, here's another picture on the same woman's facebook page... which I find.. ironic.

Whose fault is it when things get to this point? The parents'. They're the ones who should be out holding signs saying, "I don't know how to parent my child effectively."
