The mother of one of Olivia's classmates has just died. I just got a letter from the school. She's had cancer for a couple years, and I'm not sure if there was ever much hope of a recovery, but I still feel sick with grief and horror at the news. She has two children, one Olivia's age, one in the class ahead of Bodhi. I am so sad.
