being happy

I just scrolled past some little tumblr inspirational post thing that said to notice when you're happy.

I think that may have been written by a person who is mostly happy.

People who are not often happy grasp every little moment of feeling okish, of appreciating something beautiful, of anxiety free time in their cupped hands as if it's a flame they're desperate to keep alight. People who have trouble finding happy don't need to be told to appreciate it when they do.

I just felt the need to spell that out for some reason.

I can't get this out of my mind and am going to link it today. I hope that's alright, Jo.

I love this. As a person who has dealt with depression and anxiety most of her life I don't need anyone to tell me to notice it. If the feelings of sadness, depression, anxiety, fear and doom let up I notice. Does this person want me to shout it from the rooftops? Because I will. To me this is equal to noticing that I took a full breath after being suffocated for days or weeks.
