meant to meet

I was in Tesco, talking to Olivia's special needs teacher. I realised I was blocking the biscuits, and that a white haired lady was leaning over my trolley to reach the value pack Rich Tea. I apologised and tried to move, but she was using the trolley as support, so that wasn't helpful. Then she got the string of her anorak caught in my shopping, apologising more, while her grey haired friend berated her (and I was the one in the way!) But she patted my hand and said cheerfully, 'we were meant to meet!'

I love that! I will say that next time I bump into someone and knock them over. We were meant to meet! It's so sweet and hilarious. Use it! Use it well.
