10.15 saturday night

No one's ever online on the weekend. They're all out mixing their tequila for the second night in a row.

So as no one's here, this is for me. I had this album at one stage, before my brother borrowed all my tapes and left them lying around the place to slowly expire.

Little bollocks that he was.

I loved this one. I thought I was going to have to apologise for it, but I don't because it's still deadly!

And look at the age of them! Babes in arms..

Heh, Spudley, boredom brings all the boys to my blog...

If I'd kicked my bro in the nuts every time he deserved it, he'd have been a eunuch long ago :)

I love the birth stories! I hope it's a good investment, no reason why not, the more positive the better.

Was never gone on that one, "Close to you" or "why can't I be you" were good, but Disintegration was my favourite album. Is it just me or is the drummer Alan Davies twin?

God, no, poor Alan Davies.

It's Porl THomson, if memory serves? Not a beautiful man, sadly.

I didn't actually have tequila again on saturday just had a glass of wine and watched a film.

It's so difficult to agree on any film. . . luckily we both appreciate will ferrell.

Ah yes, we too come together on the topic of Will Ferrell.

Aah. Who are these gossuns? Perfect cure for Saturday night at home. Enjoyed Alan 'Because life's complicated enough' Davies drumming.

Nick, I'm dithering here, because I don't know if you're making a funny or asking a genuine question! Just in case it's the latter, it may not be perfect, but it is the Cure :)

Dither no more, Jo. It was a poor attempt at a funny. I was in that wardrobe they pushed down the hill, I made all the stupid llllllOVEcats! air-claws right back at the girls in the dishco and I didn't mind a bit when they started looking miserable (and having fun!) instead of looking miserable (and not wanting to look like they were having fun) when they were all about killing poor Arabs and whatnots. It made a fine alternative to Ryan Tubridy.

I suspected as much Nick - but then it occurred to me that maybe it's a little blinkered to assume that everyone had the same alternative tastes as me... there must be some who don't know who the Cure is, and who would I be to judge them?

I'd just be sad for them, so sad :)

Just to get a wee tad deep, I'm thinking that the people who liked The Cure, Joy Div, Siouxsie etc moved on through the JAMC and Smiths etc etc and music always mattered as an assessment of their lives in general. Not just the introspective lot, but anyone who wasn't just making pure 'pop'. The people who loved bubblegum just left it stuck to the bedpost because it was wallpaper for them then too. Ok, Deep Warning has now been removed.
