hmm

I know too many people who read my blog now to write what I feel the need to. Which is perhaps just as well, it's an inbuilt guard against the contrived and mawkish, the teenage diary outpouring of self indulgent angst.

And yet. Now where's left? Pouring my heart out in a few understated but moany words to women I don't know that well when I meet them in Tesco. Women who are friendly but not exactly friends. I think that must be a Fail.

The internet is a wonderful thing, you can write and publish your thoughts anywhere, at any time and no one you know will have to know it's you.

There's nothing wrong with contrived and mawkish, teenage diary outpouring of self indulgent angst, it keeps some of us just about sane.

I don't know what to say, write what you want if you feel you need to just get it out.

I like reading self-indulgent angst! The trick is to write a post so ridiculously long that nobody will read it... only the hardened people will get to the end. You can spew your emotions and nobody will be any the wiser, except those who know how you feel. I'm guilty of doing that!

there's an echo in here. You need to pad the walls a bit.

go ahead and write, it'll do you good. Sometimes i write a post, but then don't put it on the blog...it just felt good to get it all out.

K8,
are you implying that a padded room is needed here? ;)

This is a padded room, ladies - K8 just has itchy trigger fingers - and she hasn't found the little dustbin at the bottom of the comment box yet - it's my friend!

Nice to see you, HGF, as always!

I know what you mean, Jo, since I met you & Morgor & MB I've felt a bit more inhibited than I did when no-one had a clue who I was (and since I found out that you know Mrs Tin I haven't been able to write about my ongoing affair with the 20-year-old from my office at all).

But I think part of the reason that we all read your blog is that we know that you're not afraid to speak your mind no matter who's reading - stuff about your marriage, your love-life, your, um, girly bits.

I think it does you good. And sometimes we're able to sympathise, & maybe that helps. So I say keep it up.

(And the bit about the affair is a JOKE).

Oh, protesting too much, Tinman, you philanderer.

I knew that comment was a mistake as soon as I sent it. I thought "I've just written a sincere and thoughtful piece about how great I think Jo's blog is, and the only part that will sink in with anyone about it is "wow, Tinman's having an affair".

And Holemaster will ask for pics.

I was out walking and felt my name being typed somewhere.

It's OK Tinman, I found a picture of your female workmates. It's one in the black knickers, isn't it?
