2009

Midnight.
I can hear fireworks going off, my neighbour has just been out ringing in in the new year.

I'm sitting in the dark, having just fed Bodhi. He's boiling, probably got his sister's fever, but cheerful - he's in my bed now, farting out his wind and I look down at him to see a gleam in his eye as he grins up at me. I love that he finds gas letting so funny.

This beats sitting downstairs over a pile of work, crying. I wish I could say that I was optimistic for the coming year, but in the bigger picture, recession and global warming loom. At home, things seem bleak. It's hard to envision solutions. Why should this year be different from the last?

But I wish you all well for next year anyway. For new babies and homes, and ventures and fresh starts and recoveries and resolutions that stick. Health and wealth. Peace in your homes and peace in your hearts.

All good things unto us, Jo. All good things unto us. It's that Field of Dreams, innit? Now if you build it...

Nice pots Jo. I hope you and your family have a good 2009 and that things get easier. And let's hope we get a summer this year too.

i wish i knew what to say to make it all better. i think you need to change something girl. you can't be crying on new year's eve. no one should choose to be miserable. try and find your happiness. i'm sure you already know, deep inside, what that would entail. it's scary. but you deserve to be happy. we all do.
mind yourself. and i hope 2009 brings you smiles, lots and lots of smiles

It's a funny funny world.

The new year always brings with it a certain amount of reflection and melancholy.

Your words are sad, and I hope you find the things to plug whatever holes you find appearing. Remember though, that even as you write about a down time, you write about things you have that others don't and would give all the things that you crave, up for.

Not sure where I'm going with this now, it's just a very funny world.
