The Universe just won't give me a break.
I just went on Amazon and saw the Kitchenaid Classic mixer - something I've been lusting after for a long time - was selling for 149.99 pounds. A fairly tasty offer, 50 less than usual. And just read the glowing reviews!
A friend generously offered to ship it for me as a Christmas present. I had it all lined up in my shopping basket and my soul was humming with the thought of having it on my counter, mixing mixing, whipped cream, cookies, cupcakes, frosting, cakes galore. Wheeeee.
But I didn't buy it last night, no, there was something about a VAT change, for some reason I just thought I'd wait til this morning while I dithered between free postage v another few quid for quick postage. I can never make a decision.
So the gods decided to make a point - went to buy it this morning, la la la BUMP. The price is back up again. Making it far less acceptable a luxury.
Arse. arse arse arse.
I was considering buying it anyway, but I think I have too long a list of non-luxuries to look after first right now. And what if I buy it and it pops back down again. Not worth the risk.

I know, I know, there's a trendyness factor in the price. There's a kenwood one for half the price, but it just doesn't speak to me. I'd look at it and wish it was a Kitchenaid.
And I'm fairly sure my ordinary blender thingy cost nearly that much? I had a voucher for it, and I don't think I got much change out of it.
If you have a 200 euro mixer and are in the market for a new one, I'm well out of touch.
My wrists are strong from raising my fist in the air to protest male opression.
No no no, that's a general blender, for chopping and suchlike.
It's not so good for the baking anymore, for various boring reasons I won't go into. The Kitchenaid is specifically a baking mixer, though it does other stuff too. I specifically want it for large volume baking, like in the summer, when I may be baking for two days straight each week.

I love looking at my Yamaha Clavinova digital piano and wonder when am I going to go and get those lessons. I might post about this.

If I were you I'd just buy it. Sure you may not have gotten it at the very very best price but that'll hardly matter when it's sitting on your kitchen counter, lookin' all cute & useful. G'wan.. get it!

I want to, but I think I'd better not... too much Christmas shopping to do... and mostly because if it comes back down again I'll be mentally kicking myself forever.
