nationwide sleeplessness

The night before last I lay down to sleep about two. And of course then Bodhi woke up and demanded milk. And then I couldn't sleep properly, and he kept waking and being unsettled, and it felt like all night long and then he was awake again early and agh! And Axel said exactly the same thing.

And last night he said that he'd been listening to Ray D'arcy the next day, and he mentioned that he hadn't been able to sleep - and loads of people texted in that they hadn't been able to either!

What do you think? Aliens? Phases of the moon? It was Monday night. Could you sleep?

Monday night, Lil was up every hour on the hour which meant so was I :( LAst night though, sweet, sweet sleep! Bliss...

Would you not think maybe Axel's inability to sleep was someway connected with the mammy and baby hopping around the bed all night?

Axel could sleep through a fucking riot, xbox.

Monday is already a blur. Tuesday was hell. Pea waking every 20 minutes with that awful dagger-stabbing-chest cough and then I awoke at 3am wide awake and anxious.

Maybe the evil winds are moving west to east and took 24 hours to cross the Atlantic to Italy!??
Watch out Xbox, they're heading your way!

I couldn't sleep on Monday night but that was only because every time I closed my eyes I saw my dog being struck by a car. Oh, and Sunday night and Tuesday night and probably again tonight :-(

nothing to do with the phases of the moon, I'm afraid. Nice to know that I wasn't lying awake alone :-)

I know, Mick, it's horrible. I'm so sorry :(

Replace it with something else. A big STOP sign, and then a different, happier image to engag your attention.

I had brutally bad nights of sleep on Sunday and Tuesday night, but slept like a newborn on Monday, so I dunno.

Maybe drink more?

Hmm. Well, apparently hundreds of people rang in to the radio show, which suggests something out of the ordinary.

I still think it's moon phases and it affects some people differently.
Hairy people maybe :)

I'm curious does Andrew mean he woke up every 2 hours screaming for tit?

Jo said...

Yeah, that's funny, I was just thinking yesterday about how you don't reallyunderstand the phrase 'sleping like a baby' til you have one.

I don't think I want to see the phrase 'screaming for tit' on my blog again, though. :P

Sorry Mammy :-)

That's Ms Mammy to you.

Mrs... and don't you forget it ;-)

Are you kidding me?

Did you completely 'miss' out on the last three decades of feminism.

Mrs... shakes head.

Ah that was just a fad. Like line dancing.

Nah, my family used to foster babies and, as I recall, they slept pretty well for the first week or two. It was later on that they woke up screaming every few hours. That's why I said 'sleeping like a newborn' rather than 'sleeping like a baby'. Mind you, these were obviously bottle-fed babies and I have heard that they sleep better at first.

Monday night was particularly bad for me as well.
